Mullum to Bruns / Bruns to Mullum (2 – 3 hours)
The Brunswick River has the rare feature of being a tidal estuary that stretches between two towns. Join us for the adventure of paddling from Mullumbimby to Brunswick Heads.
A ripper of a tour for the energetic group, and an excellent accomplishment once completed. Jump on the Yaks at Mullum, paddling 10 kilometres with the tide from the base of the Range to the Sea. This is a great scenic tour paddling through a variety of wilderness regions. For the keen beans we can run a mini race within the tour, for bragging rights and who gets to shout a well earned Ale at the end of the trip.
We will be paddling the course of the fiercely contested Mullum to Bruns Race that is run annually in May each year. Our main man and owner of GoSea Kayak Kurt Tutt is the current holder of the race record, 48 minutes, thankfully it will take us much longer than that as sometimes its nice to just lay back and let the tide do the work.
Lots of spots to swim and muck around, and tip out your mates. We stop and have a snack along the banks, a bit of a stretch and chinwag about our surrounds. When the tide is running out we paddle from Mullum to Bruns, when its running in, we can go from Bruns to Mullum. It’s a ripper of a trip and a fantastic way to see the river, and all that reside amongst her. Well worth a beer at the end of this one.
